Goodtime Monty
Goodtime Monty is a brand for slow travelers who like to visit off the beaten tracks and take their time. I was initially in charge of the design of the printed map of Kraków. I am now part of the design team, overseeing the consistency of the brand visual identity, website developpment, social media communication and design of gadgets. The llustrations were created by Paulina Radoń and the project was based on the brand identity and original character concept by balsamstudio.
task & solution
The goal was to create a fun, simple and convenient map guide of Kraków that would include tips and recommendations presented in a fun and personal way.
The solution was to include handdrawn illustrations and notes that would make the customer feel like if someone had written over the map, giving his most personal advice. The color code creates a clear division by district but the main colors refer to the architecture of the city. The vintage and nostalgic aspect of the brand is achieved through warm colors and watercolor illustrations with our two brand heroes: Monty and his sidekick: Lady Grace. Furthermore, one of the iconic brand element is the striped frame that refers to old-fashioned postcards and Monty's striped pants. The chosen fonts also have a vintage vibe but offer a clear text hierarchy. The map is printed on stone paper which makes it waterproof and eco-friendly.
